Welcome to my Game Review Center. Here you will find many games that I feel are worthy of my time to review and let others know if they are worth their time to play or not. Each Review will have the Title, Publisher, Category, Keyser Rating, Author Rating (if written by someone other than myself) and Bug Rating. Below I will define Categories, The Keyser Rating System and Bug Rating system.
Categories: Action, Adventure, Flight Sim, Role Playing Game, FPS (First Person Shooter), Simulation and Strategy. I will also place a Genre in with the category if need be (Ex: Sci-Fi FPS).

Aliens vs Predator 2 Publisher: Fox Interactive Category: Sci-Fi FPS Keyser Rating: Bug Rating: |
Playing AVP2 is a
big improvement over its predecessor, Aliens
vs Predator. Designed with the Lithtech Engine, the gameplay is
smooth and the graphics are top notch. The Engine also allows for
more scripted areas as well as cutscenes. Like it's predecessor,
AVP2 allows you to play the roles of Space Marine, Predator and
Alien. In this respect, the replayability of this game is very
high. Another nice feature of the game is that all 3 modes of play
tie into the same story, in effect, shining the light on the "Big
Picture" of real story.
There is a definite sense of fear when playing the Space Marine that closely resembles the anxiety and fear of the first time you watched the movie Aliens. The weapon selection and equipment are quite nice and the Motion Tracker definitely adds to the spooky experience. Playing as the Predator is equally fun. Stalking your prey using your cloaking device and the interesting array of weapons makes this portion of the game more challenging than the Space Marine Campaign. Why? A lone Human or Space Marine is easy prey in itself, but when grouped, engaging them becomes a bit challenging. Also, the Predator is not immune to the turreted gatling cannons of the armored APCs. Playing as the Alien in this game is the most challenging. The Alien cannot take much damage, compared to the armored Space Marine and Predator, however, he is very fast and stealthy. Unlike the first game, you start off in AVP2 as a Facehugger and must advance to Chest Burster then to Alien drone. It is the first two stages that increase the difficulty in this campaign, but it also increases the fun! I have played through all 3 Campaigns and found them all to be quite entertaining. However, My Favorite is the Space Marine Campaign! Go Figure! |

Aliens vs Preadtor 2: Primal Hunt Punlisher: Fox Interactive Category: Sci-Fi FPS Keyser Rating: Bug Rating:

This is the
expansion to Aliens vs Predator 2. It basically adds 9 more missions
and 4 multiplayer missions, new weapons and 2 new classes, the Pred-Alien
and the Corporate Mercenary.
As far as expansions go, the story seems to be ok but it seems as if things just became much more difficult. When going from AVP2 to Primal Hunt, it feels as though you are newbie to a certain point. Playing as the Corp. Merc can be challenging in the beginning and unlike AVP2, this game throws you right into some nasty infestation. On the Predator end, you get to rumble with some native creatures on the planet you start out on and that seems to be a nice change of pace. However, since this Predator is supposed to be 500 years old, I find it interesting the the Energy Flechette weapon he has would never have evolved and become part of the normal Predator equipment. Playing as the Alien, you get a chance to become a Pred-Alien, although it looks cool, there is not much to it other than it is pretty strong. The Pred-Alien cannot climb walls and is somewhat similar in operation to a Praetorian Alien. I have yet to finish this expansion, but from what I have played it does not seem like something you definitely need to have. |
